Artist's Comments

Well, here we go. This was a project I had to do for my finals in Freshman Seminar. Had to make a story with two other numbnuts who didn't really do anything but play Super Smash Bros. on a ROM while I worked. I drew and wrote everything, and the other two ruined parts of it by adding in really crappy writing (one wanted to make it "use nicer grammar", one wanted to "add in jokes", all of which SUCKED).

Though the one who wanted nicer grammar helped conceive the concept behind this crap so ehh. It turned out to be a nice story--it wasn't intended as a "parody" of children's books, but it does come off that way.

Anyway, whineage aside, the point of the project was to make "books of hope" to send to children in Uganda and India. In the end maybe a plotline like this wasn't the best idea to put in such a book. But it's giving them something to read and take their minds off what's going on in their country so they can get some sleep.

So I decided that since I put a lot of effort into making this crap I'd share it with you guys, and there's no really good way of doing this on Deviantart other than Flash. And since the book really is pretty corny and generic, I decided to do a very corny voiceover! What fun. By the way, as you may imagine, the easter egg wasn't in the book itself. We had a maximum of 20 pages, any way, and we hit that.

If there's any errors with the cartoon--something scrolls by too fast, the "Again?" button screws up, tell me, because I haven't the patience nor the being-more-than-half-awake-ness to make sure all ends are tied.

EDIT 6/23: Distributed frames in the easter egg to make it easier to read. It still isn't perfect but I'll work on it more later.

Oh this is the most amazing story I have ever heard! Epic writing, fast paced action and robot-ninja cowboys.

I think it's nice how Carol overcame her fear of saving the president. Clearly a lot of thought went into the characterisation and the motives of the badguys.

But yeeeeah, it made me chuckle. So it gets a fave

If you spend your whole life walking behind others, you'll never make your own distinct path in life.

Plus the smell might make you a bit rank.
